About Cat Chamberlain

Catherine Rose Chamberlain, or “Cat” for short, is excited to join the Dressage Unlimited team as Niki’s assistant. She is a 21-year-old dressage professional who has been riding and competing for over twelve years. Cat is entering the open division coming off of a very successful Junior/Young Rider career. She competed at the FEI North American Junior and Young Rider Championships five times, winning Junior individual and freestyle silver medals in 2010, Young Rider team gold in 2011, Young Rider team, individual and freestyle gold in 2014 and Young Rider team gold and individual silver in 2015. She has competed at the USEF Festival of Champions twice as well, winning the Junior Reserve National Championship in 2010 and the Young Rider National Championship in 2015. Cat also finished 6th in the 2015 Young Rider Grand Prix Brentina Cup Championships. cat1

In 2015 she was selected to participate in the USEF Young Rider European Tour, where she represented the United States at the CDIO in Hagen, Germany and placed 6th in the team test. Cat has also earned her USDF Gold, Silver and Bronze medals. She was awarded the 2015 Anita Owen Perpetual Junior/Young Rider Trophy for Outstanding Sportsmanship and the 2014 Fiona Baan “Pursuit of Excellence” Memorial Trophy. She was also the 2015 USDF Year End Intermediate II JR/YR Champion. She enjoys the process of working with young horses but also loves showing in the competitive FEI ring.

Cat served on the board of the Arizona Dressage Association for a few years and organized fundraisers and activities for the youth members. She also served on the board of the Temecula Valley Society, a chapter of the California Dressage Society. Cat has been on the board of the Dressage Foundation since last year and has done various fundraisers for them as well, raising nearly $9,500 to be used for grants. Cat was honored to receive the USDF Youth Volunteer of the Year Award in 2012 and a USDF Youth Convention Scholarship in 2011. She has been a member of the Youth Programs Advisory Subcommittee since 2011. She greatly enjoys giving back to the community and helping out wherever she can.
